Level crossing gate


This is what the entrance to the reserve today looked like in 1900. The photo was taken by E.J. Bedford who took many photos of the London Brighton and the South Coast railways at work.

The gate you see today was specially built as a copy of an original gate that was rescued from the site by school children in 1989.
