Creation of a wildflower area by young people
When the Lewes sewer system was upgraded in 2004-5, the entrance to the Reserve was used as a storage compound by Costains Black and Veatch who agreed to help the Junior Management Board restore it as a wildflower entrance area.
The development and progress of this area has been recorded by adults with learning disabilities. Their record gives us a unique glimpse into seasonal change as the area settles and matures. The participants now take these photos almost every month and load them directly into the website. When clicked, each photo is enlarged and extra information is provided where necessary.
