Raising the Roof on the 11th November

Date: 11/10/2009
Chairman, John Parry, at the turf-cutting.
Please take this opportunity to learn about the Linklater Pavilion, a centre for the study of environmental change, which is now under construction at the entrance to the Railway Land Local Nature Reserve in the heart of Lewes.

Hear about the many achievements of the Railway Land Wildlife Trust over the past 21 years. Listen to local philanthropist Peter Mettyear explain why he has backed this project named after Peter Linklater, a true friend of Lewes. Enjoy an evening of music, pictures and words that express our vision for the Pavilion.
No one has all the answers to the many issues around environmental change, but the Pavilion will serve as a hub for thinkers and innovators of all ages to study the natural environment, gather data and information, generate and share ideas, and suggest and evaluate solutions at this pivotal time.

The Linklater Pavilion will provide a highly flexible, adaptable, practical working base. We invite all those with a concern for the environment to be part of this groundbreaking initiative.

Those simply wishing to learn and contribute, or those with expertise to offer, amateur and professional - all will be welcome.

So, please come and hear some original music composed especially for the occasion, played by the musicians of Symphonic Cycle with Ian McCrae conducting; listen to Angels with Attitude sing; and hear contributions from Julian Bell, Chris Drury, Derek Lamport and Francis Ratnieks.

Be there as we raise the roof for the Linklater Pavilion in Lewes Town Hall on Wednesday 11th November at 7.30pm.

Entrance is free. Doors open at 7.00pm. Please be in your seats by 7.20pm.

There will be a bar, snacks to buy, and a £1 a ticket raffle
