January 2012

This was our windiest day – the sun was shining but as Dave said, ‘It was dicey and I thought no way Jose am I going up there.’ So the photos were taken by the staff, Fiona and Clare. ‘There were white horses’, said Dawn, ‘and the gale force wind nearly blew us over.’

‘We couldn’t use the tripod or the ropes to mark the fixed point spot because the tripod would have been knocked down and if the ropes had gone, we might not have got them back,’ said Stuart.

For two new members Josie and Steph, this was quite a day. They watched as the team, led by Sam, changed the notice board photo which is not easy in a gale. ‘There was salt on the surface and so we cleaned it with my tissue’, said Stuart.

‘This was also the best view we have had of the wave cut platform’, said Fiona.
